Hop-on hop-off Tour Buses Return to Streets

Shanghai's hop-on and hop-off sightseeing buses resumed operation on Sunday with strict epidemic prevention measures.

Two of four lines will start running first at 20-minute intervals, with the number of passengers on each bus kept below half capacity, or about 25, Shanghai Spring Tour, the operator, said.

One of the two lines with stops such at Shanghai Museum, Nanjing Road Pedestrian Mall, Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, Waibaidu Bridge, Huaihai Rd M. and Yuyuan Garden runs between 9am and 6pm, while the other with five stops like Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, Jin Mao Tower and Oriental Pearl TV Tower operates from 9am to 5:30pm. Both have shortened operation hours.

Passengers are required to have their temperature checked and wear masks. Those with a temperature above 37.3 degrees Celsius will not be allowed on. Passengers need to register their information by scanning a QR code and will be asked to sit separately with vacant seats between them.

Thorough disinfection and cleaning on buses are conducted upon each use, and all workers must have temperature measured and wear masks.

Discounted ticket price is 15 yuan (US$2.14), and medical workers will enjoy free fares through the end of this year in gratitude for their dedication in the coronavirus battle, the operator said.
