Shanghai Disney Resort Partially Reopens

Shanghai Disney Resort has partially resumed operations after a six-week closure, it said on Monday.

Due to the epidemic, on January 25 the resort suspended operations at Shanghai Disneyland, and Wishing Star Park and Disneytown, including Walt Disney Grand Theatre. Later, it closed Shanghai Disneyland Hotel and Toy Story Hotel.

On Monday, some of the resort’s locations reopened their doors under limited capacity and reduced hours of operation, while Shanghai Disneyland remains closed.

In Disneytown, its self-operated World of Disney Store and certain popular shopping and dining venues including Lego, Heytea and The Cheesecake Factory will open from 11am to 7pm. The Walt Disney Grand Theatre will remain closed and the Mandarin production of the musical “Beauty and the Beast” will not be staged.

Wishing Star Park, a popular spring outing destination for city residents, will partly open from 10am to 5pm. Visitors can have a stroll on the river banks to enjoy the spring blossoms, but entertainment activities including boat and bike rental are not available.

The Shanghai Disneyland Hotel has reopened with only a limited number of rooms available. When the Toy Story Hotel will reopen hasn’t been decided.

The Disney Car and Coach Park and the Disneytown Parking Lot will open from 9am to 7pm and reduce one-day parking fee to 30 yuan (US$4.32).

According to the resort, it will provide an extensive range of measures, including strict and comprehensive approaches to sanitization, disinfection and cleaning, to ensure safety of visitors and staff.

Every guest entering the Shanghai Disney Resort will be required to undergo temperature screening upon their arrival, present their Health QR Code when entering dining venues, and wear a mask during their entire visit.

Guests will also be reminded to maintain respectful distances at all times while in stores, queues and restaurants.
