Day 1 Lhasa Arrival

Make your own flight or train arrangement to Lhasa. Once you arrive, our guide will meet you at the exit and transfer to your hotel in Lhasa. The rest day is free on your own to explore the city or adjust the altitude stress.

Day 2 Lhasa

In the morning, our guide will meet you at your hotel lobby. Today, you'll pay a visit to the famous Potala Palace, the world cultural heritage, also the landmark of Lhasa. You can explore its audience halls, the jeweled and Golden burial chortens (stupa Tombs) of past Dalai Lamas, and a tremendous number of Buddhist frescoes, Thangkas, combinations of mandala, etc.

Then tourists will head to the holiest temple in Tibet, the Jokhang Temple, built during Songtsen Gampo's reign by princess Wencheng of Tang dynasty, 647 A.D. Here you can observe sincere pilgrims making prostration in front of Jokhang Temple. While entering the temple, you can see the holiest statue of Buddha. 

Then, with your expert guide and driver, you’ll head to the holiest temple in Tibet, the Jokhang Temple, a sacred site built during the reign of Songtsen Gampo in 647 A.D. by Princess Wencheng of the Tang Dynasty. As you approach the temple, your guide will share fascinating insights into its historical and spiritual significance. Upon arrival, you’ll witness sincere pilgrims performing traditional prostrations as an act of devotion, a humbling experience that brings the spiritual atmosphere to life. With your guide leading the way, you’ll enter the temple to see the revered Jokhang Buddha, the holiest statue in Tibet, a powerful symbol of Tibetan Buddhism. Your driver will ensure your comfort throughout the journey, allowing you to fully immerse in the experience without any concerns. The combination of your guide’s expertise and your driver’s attentive service ensures this visit to Jokhang Temple will be a deeply enriching and memorable part of your Tibetan adventure.

Next you will walk around the famous Barkor Street, which close to monastery and where you can do the kora with pilgrims and locals. We'll go to explore the old market and you may have the chance to see the traditional jewelry trading between people from different part of Tibet.

Drive back to your hotel in Lhasa.

Day 3 Lhasa

Today, our guide will take you to visit these two prestigious Gelugpa monasteries in Lhasa, Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Founded by Jamyang Choeje in 1416, Drepung Monastery is the largest monastery in Tibet. Situated at the foot of Gambo Utse Mountain, Drepung was once home to more than 10000 monks. Here you can see the biggest monastery kitchen inside and then pay a visit to the Buddhist Sculpture Carving near Drepung.

After having lunch, you'll continue to visit the Sera Monastery, which was founded in 1419 by Tsongkapa's disciple Jamchen Choeje. The highlight is the monk debate held in the courtyard at around 3-5 in the afternoon. Besides, you can also see the colorful Rock Painting of Buddha and the three sand Mandalas and then visit the Tibetan scripture printing house.

After dinner, you will be taken back to your hotel.

Day 4 Lhasa-Damxung

After breakfast, drive you to visit the Yambajan, which is famous for its hot spring and is a nice choice for those who want to get a close look at the Tibetan herders and their semi-nomadic lifestyle. Covering an area of about 150,000 square meters, Yambajan, 87 kilometers away from Lhasa, is situated in the basin at the foot of Nyainqentanglha Mountains to the northwest of Lhasa.

After that, our guide will take you to Namtso Lake, it is a mountain lake on the border between Damxung County of Lhasa city and Baingoin County of Nagqu Prefecture in the Tibet Autonomous Region, China, approximately 240 kilometers from Lhasa. It is the largest salt water holy lake in Tibet. It is worth several hours riding on the road to visit. Under the clear sky, it would surely be one of the most heavenly lake in the World. In the late afternoon, our guide will take you to do leisure trek around Tashi Island. If the weather is good, you will have a chance to enjoy the marvelous sunset view of the lake. 

After the tour, transfer to your hotel in Damxung.

Day 5 Damxung-Lhasa

After breakfast, our guide will take you back to Lhasa, it takes around 4 hours driving. Once you arrive, you will visit the Norbulingka. Norbulingka is the summer residence of the successive Dalai Lamas. You will find lush trees in this royal garden, which is rare to see anywhere else in Tibet. It's also a delicate museum of Tibetan arts and culture. 

After the tour drive you back to your hotel in Lhasa.

Day 6 Lhasa

After breakfast, drive you to outside of Lhasa city to visit the Garden Monastery, it is the most special one of six major monasteries in Tibet, it is made of the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism founder of tsongkhapa personally set up in 1409, and it’s a global sect of the ancestral monastery and quite worth to see if this is your first time to travel in Tibet.

In the afternoon, you will visit the Drak Yerpa hermitage on the way back to Lhasa. It's close to Lhasa city and consists of a monastery and a number of ancient meditation caves that used to house about 300 monks. The entrance to the Yerpa Valley is about 16 kilometers northeast of Lhasa on the northern bank of the Kyichu. From there, it is another 10 kilometers to the famous ancient meditation caves in the spectacular limestone cliffs of the Yerpa Valley. There is an ancient sky burial site opposite the main caves.

After the tour, drive you back to your hotel in Lhasa.

Day 7 Lhasa Departure

Free on your until transfer to Lhasa airport or train station for your departure.
