Our tour guide was Nancy. She and our driver showed up promptly at our hotel. The vehicle was a spacious newer van with plenty of room. The tour took us to Zhujiajiao Water Town and we were able to select 3 other locations in Shanghai. We selected Jade Buddha Temple, the Bund, and Shanghai Tower. Nancy was very entertaining and provided a lot of history and information about the sites we visited. She also took us to a local restaurant near the temple for a delicious lunch. We loved how she ordered real Shanghai dishes for us to try. She also gave us tips on what to see on our own the next day. I highly recommend this private customizable tour and be sure to ask for Nancy!

This is a great way to learn some cultural history about China and Shanghai. Highly recommend you do this when you first arrive and then you can go back and visit the spots on your own. Our guide, Alex, was great and suggest you request him. His English was very good and very easy to understand and he was very patient with all the picture taking and allowed us to customize the tour to our liking. The driver, Mr Gio, was very good and the van comfortable. Nothing bad about this tour - we did Zhujiajiao, the Narrow Ally Way, the French Concession and the Jade Buddha and all were very interesting.

We did a full a day Shanghai tour with Nancy and had an enjoyable and informative day. Nancy was knowledgeable and friendly. She showed us around the city and gave us lots of good and helpful information. Nothing seemed to be rushed and we were able to look at area that we would like to re-visit ourselves i.e. The Bund area etc. Lunch was taken in a local cafe/restaurant, that we probably wouldn't have gone to ourselves and it turned out to be very tasty with a range of food being chosen for us by Nancy. Overall a very enjoyable trip and communication with Shanghai Private Tour was excellent - They answered any queries that we had before the day of our tour.

We had a wonderful day exploring Shanghai. Autumn was our guide and she was fantastic. She provided insight into cultural, historical and architectural details of each site we visited. She never rushed us and was just a lot of fun. The conversation flowed easily all day and we always felt safe and comfortable. I would very highly recommend this tour (particularly with Autumn!).

Another interesting day trip. Our guide Nancy is very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. She had a very warm and pleasant manner. We have learned many historical facts from her. I am thankful that we did not have a lot of time shopping at the silk factory for it could turn out to be an expensive experience. We bought some good silk products. The lunch was delicious. Boat ride was good. Our driver provided us with a most exciting ride through the heavy traffic. Looking forward to coming back for more.

Bonnie was very helpful and diligent when we communicated to finalise our trip details. We were picked up from our hotel by private cardrove to the Shanghai train station. Our guide Alex waited for us at the high speed train station. It was much easier to have someone helped us through the station from picking up the tickets to the train seats. Last time we did it ourselves and it was a challenge. Alex speaks excellent English and is very knowledgeable. The trip was relaxing and we visited sites at our own pace. He gave us a lot of insight into chinese history and the surrounding area. We did not take the boat ride but looks worth trying next time (make sure to plan accordingly).

Another amazing trip with Nancy as our guide to Hangzhou. We had booked this for two of us but 8 others from our tour party managed to get on the trip with us. The trip was very well organised and once again Nancy looked after our needs so we'll. She planned the trip with us and her organisation of transport tickets and tourist spot visits was very well handled and we felt well looked after and supported by Nancy all the way. The bullet train ride visit to tea plantation lunch at the plantation our visit to Lingying Temple and the boat trip on West Lake was amazing. The Impression westlake show was really spectacular! we were amazed by the location, production, everything! worth our trip, time, and money! Thank you Nancy from all my group for taking such good care of us and teaching us so much about this city.

Our private guide, Bonnie, took us to the most beautiful and authentic spots in Hangzhou! An ancient Buddhist temple next to a mountain with many holy statues carved in the rock, picturesque tea villages with tea plants in terraces embracing the mountains to the horizon, and the grand finale at the lake with the lotus plants and forested beaches, a great day indeed!

Highly recommend the trip! It was easy to connect with the tour agency ahead of time, and I was reminded to bring an umbrella and my passport in order to board the train to HangZhou the next day. The attention to detail was appreciated and everything on the day of the trip ran smoothly (from the driver pick-ups to getting to the station with time to spare). My guide’s name was Bonnie and she was very knowledgeable and easy to make conversation with. Not only did I learn about HangZhou, but I also got insights into daily Chinese life from the dating scene to apartment prices in Shanghai. Although the weather was horrible with nonstop rain in HangZhou, I enjoyed my private day trip and Bonnie was able to think of alternative activities when the rain got too heavy to walk outside. The trip is pricey but I personally thought it’s a great way to see and learn about the famed West Lake and surroundings if you are not familiar with transport in China or do not have the time/energy to research and navigate on your own.

Let us start with the various points.
1. Meals: In general the meals arranged (lunches and a few dinners) were of a very good quality and plentiful. We seldom managed to eat all the food that was served.
2. Guides: The guides knowledge of the English language was very good. They were all very knowledgeable about their city and the various sites we visited. Not only that but they took great care of us from the moment they met us on arrival in the airport until departure. They were with us every moment of the day and kept us well informed of all that was of interest and tried to assist in any possible way. Most of them were very likeable persons and it was great to be in their company. They were not just robots but persons one could discuss all kinds of subjects with. We felt very comfortable with the guides and considered them as friends by the time we had to leave for the next city.
- Linda in Beijing. She was a very nice and likeable person and we got on with her very well. When we had to leave Beijing we almost felt sorry for losing a close friend.
- Lily in Xian. She was also very nice and a lovely gentle personality.
- Oliver in Shanghai. A calm and very friendly person. A pleasure to talk with.
As to the specific items:
1) All the guides were assertive in offering relevant knowledge about the sites we visited (and often more than that). If we had any questions left they never remained unanswered.
2) All the guides had a thorough knowledge of the English language and at no time did we have any communication problems.
3) All the guides had an admirable knowledge of their city and sites we visited.
3. Drivers & Cars: The service attitude of all the drivers was excellent. In general they were also very good and safe drivers considering the often very busy roads and chaotic traffic. The most courteous of all the drivers was the one in Beijing. All the cars were kept clean. The car in Xian was the best of all: brand new and spacious and very comfortable. The car in Shanghai was noisy and I believe the shock absorbers need to be replaced.
4. Hotels: The hotels were generally of a very good standard. Hotel service and room hygiene was satisfactory. Breakfast was good. Before coming to China we were warned that the beds in the hotels are often very hard but we had no problems all beds with just one exception were comfortable.
Overall, EXCELLENT tour. PERFECT organization.
